The Setup tab of any pop-up or banner is where you decide the timing and placement — when it appears, how often, which pages it shows on, and where on the screen it sits. This guide walks through the When and Where sections. To limit which affiliates trigger it, see Target an audience. Open a pop-up or banner from the Pop-ups & Banners list, then stay on the Setup tab. The Preview on the right updates as you change these settings.

Choose when it appears

In the When section, pick what triggers the message:
  • When the page appears — it shows as soon as the visitor lands. Set a delay in seconds if you’d rather wait a moment before it pops up, which gives the page time to load and feels less abrupt.
  • When the visitor is about to leave — often called exit intent. It appears the moment the visitor moves their cursor toward the browser bar or tries to close the tab. This is a good spot for a last-chance offer.
A short delay on page load usually works best for a welcome discount, while exit intent is better for catching someone before they leave without buying.

Set how often a visitor sees it

Under the trigger, choose how many times a visitor can see this pop-up or banner. Set it to 1 so each visitor sees it only once, or higher to bring it back on later visits. For a banner, remember it stays visible until the visitor dismisses it. Setting the count above 1 is what lets it come back after they close it.

Space out repeat views

When you allow more than one view, a second field appears: the delay before a visitor sees it again. Enter a number and choose minutes or hours. This stops the same person from seeing the message over and over in one session — for example, wait 24 hours before showing it a second time.

Choose which pages it shows on

The Where section controls which pages of your site the message can appear on. Pick one of:
  • Show on all pages — it can appear anywhere on your site.
  • Show on these pages only — it appears only on the pages you list.
  • Show on all pages except these — it appears everywhere apart from the pages you list.

Add page paths

If you chose to include or exclude specific pages, add one or more page paths. For each rule, pick how the visitor’s page address should be matched:
  • Is — the address matches your path exactly.
  • Is not — the address is anything other than your path.
  • Contains — the address includes your path anywhere in it.
  • Does not contain — the address doesn’t include your path.
Type the path in the box, for example /checkout or /products. Select Add path to stack more rules, and use the And / Or selector between them to decide whether a page must match every rule or just one of them.

Choose where it sits on the screen

At the bottom of Where, set the Position. The choices depend on the type:
  • Pop-up — place it in the centre of the screen, or tuck it into any corner: top left, top right, bottom left, or bottom right.
  • Banner — pin it to the top or the bottom of the page.
Watch the Preview as you choose — it shows exactly where the message will land.

Save your changes

Select Save Changes in the top right to keep your settings. If the pop-up or banner is still a draft, select Publish to make it live; if it’s already active, your changes apply as soon as you save.
